The weekend has been and gone and what a great time we have had in the Magenta camp. We did our real first headline shows and the response has just been out of this world. We played The Point in Cardiff on Friday. This venue is amazing, the setting is spectacular and all the guys there (Ceri, Clive and Simon) are just superb, they really look after you and the lighting rig is incredible. The turn out for this show was impressive and you all made us feel very welcome and at home. This was the first time as well that we played 5 tracks off the album "Seven". That was great fun to play and as we said on stage, that show was dedicated to our good friend Russ Elliott at Musical Discoveries. Saturday night saw us at The Classic Rock Society at the HLC in Rotherham. The last time we played there was back in July as support and the response was amazing, so we were hoping that our headline show would be met with the same enthusiasm. What met us was out of this world. The reaction just blew us away and we can't thank everyone enough for allowing us to play for you and for enjoying it so much. We were told as well that we were the first band ever to be asked to play 3 encores, so thanks, it means allot that you enjoyed watching and listening to the band so much. Special thanks also has to go out to Martin Hudson, Kris Hudson and all the gang at the CRS for organising such a brilliant event and for making us feel so welcome. This leads me very nicely on to my next bit of news. We can now confirm that we have been officially asked to play at the annual Classic Rock Society Awards night at the Oakwood Centre on 27th November 2004 in direct support to IQ. This is a night not to be missed and we are extremely honoured to be asked to play on such a prestigious night with such a great band. Tickets go on sale soon, so log on to the CRS web site (www.classicrocksociety.com) and order your tickets direct. Finally, we are now in serious talks with promoters around the country and in Europe about setting some dates for the rest of the year. We should be able to confirm more gigs over the next month so watch this space. In the mean time, thanks for supporting us and we shall see you all on the road very soon. Take care. Cheers, Rob Reed. |
